Healthcare Assistant

Liljedahl is a brand-new 60-bed residence that provides both round-the-clock residential care and communal living. In this setting we support and promote residents’ wellbeing, safety and quality of life. We emphasize each resident’s individuality and dignity, and aim to create a homely and warm atmosphere where residents feel safe and meaningful. The job’s goal is to maintain residents’ functional capacity and resources. Close cooperation with residents, relatives and staff, and ensuring continuity of care are important. The residents are multi-ill elderly people needing broad daily support. As a health care assistant you will independently handle basic care, participate in medication administration after completing the medication administration competency, assess residents’ functional ability and care needs, and maintain care plans using the RAI assessment system. You will respect residents’ right to self-determination and promote their ability to live independently and participate in decisions about their own care. Residents live in the unit for life, so palliation and end-of-life care are included. You must have LOVe medication administration competence or obtain it at the start of employment.
