The position is for a social worker specialized in early childhood education at YES day care in Vantaa. The social worker participates as a member of an multidisciplinary team in planning, implementing and evaluating pedagogical activities, and is responsible for cooperation with families in child-rearing. The role includes strengthening community spirit and participation with guardians and other family-oriented actors, and developing services and practices to promote child and family well-being and belonging. The task is located at YES day care, a bilingual (English and Finnish) unit in Hagelstamintie, Pakkala, Vantaa. The unit has eight groups, two of which are pre‑school groups, and the social worker’s duties are in the 3–5 year old group this season. We seek social workers who are positive, professional, and who emphasize children’s strengths. You should be flexible, positive and a team player. Listen to children with a sensitive ear and be truly present in daily life. Treat the child as an individual and a group member in everyday situations. Enable the child to influence matters concerning them. See the child’s growth, development and learning as a positive path that you walk together with the child, their parents and the entire team. Desirable: experience in multicultural work environments. Terms follow the Municipal General Collective Agreement (KVTES). Salary: 3113–3218 EUR/month.
