Environment Inspector

Environmental inspector handles a variety of tasks related to environmental protection. The job primarily includes permit tasks and supervisory duties under the Environmental Protection Act, Mineral Resources Act, Waste Act and Water Act and the regulations under those acts. The role may also include river protection and restoration projects and cooperation with neighboring municipalities. Eligibility requires a suitable university degree. The job requires a proactive attitude, command of the relevant legislation or ability to quickly learn it, cooperation skills and the ability to work independently and make decisions. Also requires good interpersonal and oral/written communication skills. We value the ability to take initiative and to carry through permit processes smoothly. The position includes a lot of customer service and travel within the municipality. A B-class driving license and access to a car are required. Prior experience in environmental protection authority tasks or experience in municipal decision-making is an advantage. Salary is determined according to the Municipal Technical Personnel collective agreement (TS). The job’s base salary is €4019.21. In addition TS-based experience pay and possible personal pay.
