Preschool Teacher

A temporary position for a preschool teacher in a group of 3–5 year-olds at Aurinkokiven day care in Vantaa. The role involves building the group's operating culture and learning environment, planning and implementing pedagogical activities, developing and evaluating them in collaboration with other staff, in accordance with the City of Vantaa's early childhood education plan and the unit's action plan. We value good teamwork and interaction skills, ability to consider each child's individual needs, and multi-professional collaboration. The unit uses the ProVaka model for supporting children's social skills, and the educator commits to acting according to its principles together with the rest of the staff. There are clear leadership structures; you may participate in unit management meetings. A multidisciplinary head teacher supports in matters related to child support. (note: based in Vantaa) with five groups, a meeting place, and access to local nature. A warm, inclusive atmosphere is emphasized, with a focus on child welfare and parent interactions. Requirements include strong Finnish language skills in writing and speaking. Start date and contract details: fixed-term until 31.08.2026 or as agreed, possibly extended to 13.01.2027. Salary: 3129.46–3234.53 EUR/month; additional allowances for certain degrees and a 3–8% experience-based increment. The employer adheres to OVTES collective agreement terms.
