About the role

China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. (CHEC) is a world-renowned international contractor and a leading provider of comprehensive services across the entire industry chain for both public and private sectors. We are seeking a skilled Construction Site QA/QC Engineer to Kouvola, Finland to ensure that all construction activities meet defined quality standards, project specifications, and Finnish regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in maintaining high-quality execution across all data center project phases, working closely with site management, subcontractors, and clients. Key Responsibilities - Develop and implement site-specific Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) plans - Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings and other applicable standards - Conduct inspections and witness tests for civil, structural, and architectural activities - Ensure compliance with Finnish building regulations, standards (e.g.RT, RYL), and safety requirements - Coordinate closely with construction, engineering, commissioning, and client teams - Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective/preventive actions - Maintain accurate QA/QC documentation, reports, and inspection records - Participate in site meetings and provide quality-related updates - Support handover processes, including documentation and final inspections - Participate in site meetings and quality-related reviews What we expect from you - Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field - Minimum 3-5 years experience in construction quality assurance/control - Strong understanding of Finnish construction standards and quality requirements - Experience with inspection procedures, documentation, and audits - Familiarity with international standards and codes (e.g., ISO 9001, ASTM, ACI, AISC, BS, EN) - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality - Analytical and problem-solving mindset - Ability to identify risks and implement corrective actions - Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills - Ability to work independently on a construction site - Fluency in Finnish and English This project offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-impact initiative and develop professionally in a diverse and challenging environment.
