We are looking for a qualified early childhood teacher for a permanent position starting 28 September 2026. Our unit consists of three separate locations: Kauklahden Daycare, Hansakallio School’s pre‑primary, and Pikku-Karhun Daycare. We are now seeking a teacher for the Pikku-Karhun unit, and during this term you would work with the Mesikämmenien group for ages 2–5. Pikku-Karhun Daycare is located in Karhusaari, in a quiet detached-house neighborhood. Currently our daycare has three groups for children aged 1–5 years. We are a warm, idyllic daycare at the forest’s edge, with a nature‑oriented approach and use of the nearby environment. At Pikku-Karhun we create a good operating and learning environment for children in collaboration with families. Our strength is community. Children’s interests guide planning and are at the center of activities. As a early childhood teacher you are responsible for the pedagogical planning, implementation, evaluation and development of your own group together with your team. Your teammate will be another early childhood teacher, a child caretaker and an assistant. You work well with other teams and maintain close cooperation with families and networks. Job title and address: Pikku-Karhun Daycare, Tervamäki 2, 02810 Espoo. Working hours: 38 h 15 min/week. The position is permanent starting 28 September 2026. Qualification requirement: According to the Child Welfare Act (540/2018) the required qualification. At least a Bachelor’s degree in education including preschool teacher training, or a degree in social and health care (varhaiskasvatus) from a university of applied sciences, or a prior equivalent vocational qualification, e.g. kindergarten teacher or social educator. Newly graduating early childhood teachers are also considered. Knowledge of the early childhood curriculum and the ability to lead a team in a team‑lead role are required. The successful candidate must present a criminal record extract as required by the Criminal Records Act section 6.2. Tuberculosis screening is required for those working with under‑school‑age children.
