Huvikumpu ry is seeking an energetic and motivated afternoon program supervisor to complete a lively and sunny work team. Huvikumpu ry runs after-school activities for primary students in Helsinki at two sites, Lehtisaari and Kuninkaantie. The ideal colleague is outgoing and proactive, and is expected to guide children in diverse activities including crafts, excursions, and physical activity. We organise meaningful structured activities for the children each day, while also leaving room for play and outdoor free time. The role is varied and rewarding, with time set aside for planning during monthly and team meetings. The unit is supported by a coordinator and two service providers. The supervisor will plan, implement, and oversee after-school activities in collaboration with the rest of the team, and will communicate with schools and parents. We follow theme-month thinking and weekly schedules to ensure engaging and varied programming. A key part of our quality program is the free club activities, planned and implemented based on families’ and children’s wishes. In August, we arrange orientation days to help new staff start smoothly at Huvikumpu. Our employees are cared for by Terveystalo and we train our staff at least twice yearly in training days. We also organise team-building and wellbeing days a few times a year. Education/qualifications could include, for example, sports instructor, AMK sports instructor, after-school program supervisor, art student, practical nurse, social services student, youth and leisure supervisor. We also value experience in working with children with special needs. The successful candidate will present a background check as required for work with children.
