Join Our Team! We are looking for a HSE Specialist to join our HSE Team in Vaasa, Finland. In this role, you will support our Finnish projects in the Nordic Operation Unit (OU) and focus on the HSE tasks in the HSE department and throughout the projects life cycle. You will be ensuring that the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance are documented, monitored and maintained. You will also be driving continuous improvement in all areas of HSE. The Nordic OU HSE Team is a network of experienced health, safety and environmental professionals supporting the delivery of complex construction, energy and industrial projects across Finland, Sweden and Denmark. We support highly skilled site teams in delivering world-class projects through professionalism, quality and operational excellence, creating environments where safety is the natural outcome of doing the job right. Working closely with project management, customers and contractors, we provide expertise and practical support throughout the project lifecycle. If you are motivated by complex projects, enjoy working with skilled professionals and want to help shape the future of HSE in the energy and construction industries, you will fit right in with our team. **How you'll make an impact** - Implement and work with continuous improvement of Hitachi Energy operating unit management system and local requirements in Finland for the operating unit of the Nordic OU. - Prepare and update HSE documentation in accordance with the internal process. Submit all preliminary HSE plans to the customer in accordance with the tender submission dates. - Attend clarification meetings and workshops with the customer (both in person and remotely). - Prepare the Project HSE Plan as well as other HSE-related documentation such as the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan. - Ensure activities under the scope of Hitachi Energy are in compliance with legal and contractual HSE requirements as well as internal HSE requirements. - Produce reports for Project Reviews, both internal and customer, and attend the Project Review meetings to ensure the Hitachi Energy HSE Operating System remains suitable, adequate, and effective. - Review HSE documentation from all Hitachi Energy subcontractors and support subcontractors to meet internal and Project HSE requirements. **Your background** - Previous experience of HSE tasks in projects - Professional HSE certification is seen as a plus - Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certifications - Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to operate within global teams - Self-driven and persistent attitude towards challenges. You work actively and professionally both independently and as a part of a team. - Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Finnish. Swedish is seen as a plus.
