About the role

Job Description In this role, you will be responsible for the technical design and product development of cooling and heat pump systems for air handling units. You will work in close cooperation with various stakeholders to ensure that solutions are high-performing and compliant with industry standards throughout the lifecycle, from the design board to practical testing. The core of the role involves product development projects centered on the transition to next-generation natural refrigerants. This is not just office work; you will have the opportunity to put theory into practice together with production testers. Tasks can be performed in a hybrid model from Hollola, with approximately 3-4 days a week at the Hollola site. Responsibilities - Sizing, design, and modeling of heat pump solutions for air handling units - Preparation and documentation of technical drawings, calculations, and system diagrams - Selection of cooling system components, such as compressors and control systems - Testing and verification of heat pump solutions in the product development process - Providing technical support and training for sales, procurement, and installation teams - Monitoring and applying industry standards, regulations, and directives to design We are looking for - Relevant technical education, such as an HVAC engineer or an M.Sc. (Tech) in energy technology - Strong understanding of the operation and sizing of air conditioning and cooling systems - Fluent skills in Finnish and English - Ability to apply energy efficiency principles in design work - A team-oriented, inquisitive, and open approach to work We value if you have - In-depth knowledge of refrigerants and their properties (e.g., natural refrigerants) - Good proficiency in CAD or BIM design software - Experience in multidisciplinary collaboration with HVAC and electrical designers Our Recruitment Process Academic Work is handling this search on behalf of its client, who requests that all questions regarding the position be directed to Academic Work.
