Apply for an internship at Kela! Are you interested in socially significant work with a reliable employer? Apply for an internship at Kela, intended for students nearing the end of their studies and recent graduates. You will get to know working life through interesting tasks and comprehensive induction, so do not miss this opportunity! Would you like to intern at Kela’s Debt Collection Centre? The Centre is responsible for Kela’s debt collection operations: developing collection processes, collection systems and the operational implementation of debt collection. If you are interested in the varied tasks involved in debt collection, apply to join us! Your duties include general debt collection tasks and telephone service, as well as decision-making work and other tasks when needed. You will take part in the work of a team operating across several locations and receive induction and support from experienced, skilled colleagues. Your primary work location will be Helsinki, Jyväskylä, Lahti, Lappeenranta, Rovaniemi or Tampere. The internship lasts five months (1 January 2027–31 May 2027). In addition to the internship in our unit, you will take part in Kela’s internship programme, which supports your professional development, helps you identify your strengths and supports career planning. During the programme, you will network with other interns and gain an overall picture of Kela’s operations. At Kela, we believe the best ideas emerge together, which is why we value interns’ views on how work could be developed. The internship can be an important step in your career, and we want to make it a meaningful experience. You may be a suitable intern for us if you: - are in the final stage of higher education studies or have recently graduated from a university of applied sciences or university; - speak and write excellent Finnish and have good Swedish and English skills; - are accustomed to working towards goals and can manage busy work situations; - work independently but recognise when collaboration is needed; - are motivated by customer service and want to develop in it; and - have good digital and interpersonal skills. It is also an advantage if you want and know how to resolve matters correctly at the first attempt, contribute constructively and actively to the work community, and have a positive attitude. We offer you: - a starting salary of €2,327 per month; - a meaningful and engaging internship experience; - flexibility in your working days through remote work and flexitime; - comprehensive induction and support for developing your professional skills; - a lunch benefit; and - comfortable premises and up-to-date work equipment. At Kela, we continuously develop the employee experience. We invest in self-directed work and work guided by the community, and we value our employees. We work across several locations while also building a sense of community. Kela is a family-friendly workplace, recognised by the Family Federation of Finland in 2021 and 2024. Kela’s supervisors take a coaching approach, supporting you in your daily work and helping you succeed. We make sure you receive a good induction. People from many backgrounds work at Kela, and everyone can be themselves. We invest in equality and non-discrimination. We select the candidates whose skills and experience best meet the requirements of the role. Welcome as you are! Interested? Send us an application and we will see whether we can offer you meaningful work and the next step in your career. Apply through our recruitment system at www.kela.fi/rekrytoi by 29 October 2026.
