The Palliative Care Center and Home Care Services division is responsible for the Pirkanmaa wellbeing services region’s (Pirha) home care services and specialized palliative care. The Valkeakoski palliative care ward is one of three wards in the division and now seeks a new physician passionate about palliative medicine to join the team. The 10-bed ward treats palliative and end-of-life patients and acts as a support ward for home-based palliative patients. We offer a competent work community and meaningful work for the benefit of palliative patients and their families, as a vital part of Pirha’s palliative care service chain. You will work mainly on the ward, but peripheral palliative clinic duties are included in the role. You should also be prepared to participate in palliative telephone on-call duties according to agreement. Clinical supervision is available as part of the role. A license to practice medicine in Finland is required. A specialist qualification in the relevant field and experience from ward work are considered an asset. Preparation or completion of a specialisation in palliative medicine is valued positively. Proficiency in Finnish and good teamwork and communication skills are essential. You must have valid vaccination records as per the Communicable Diseases Act (1227/2016) section 48 and a certificate for pulmonary TB as per section 55. You will need to present the required health certificates within one month of starting employment. The position begins on 1 October 2026 or by agreement. The working hours are full-time, according to the physician's contract, 38 hours 15 minutes per week. The probation period is six months. Please submit your application via the button provided.
