About the role

We are seeking an occupational therapist for the Eating Disorders Unit of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, part of HUS Psychiatry, serving both adolescent and adult patients from age 13 onwards. The therapist’s services primarily target the intensive day hospital ward S2, with work also on the S3 ward and Eating Disorders outpatient clinic, and possibly the 24-hour ward S1. The role is Monday–Friday, typically 08:00–16:00. Responsibilities include individual functioning assessments, group facilitation, delivering individual occupational therapy as part of comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation plans, home visits, writing medical reports, and collaboration with families and networks. Work takes place on wards in outpatient and outreach settings. You will collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Experience with eating disorders and/or youth or adult psychiatry is advantageous. Units also treat Swedish-speaking patients. You are expected to seek and implement evidence-based occupational therapy methods and to develop practices compatible with the unit. Strong interpersonal skills and ability for autonomous work are required. Support comes from the multi-disciplinary team, your supervisor, and the supervising occupational therapist. We offer good professional training and development opportunities and a collegial occupational therapy community. The Youth Psychiatry Line employs 25 occupational therapists and HUS Psychiatry 85. We support supervision and mentoring. We provide well-being supports such as travel, exercise and cultural benefits. A working time bank is used. Start date is 14 September 2026 or by agreement. Salary: task-based pay starting at 3218.18 €/month plus possible experience and other allowances. Workplace address: HUS Psychiatry Centre, Välskärinkatu 10, 00260 Helsinki.
