Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a Special Education Teacher for early childhood education (ECE) to work at Huhtasuo daycare center in Jyväskylä for a fixed-term substitute during the 2026-2027 school year. The role acts as a specialist in early childhood education and special pedagogy within the unit, assessing, planning, and developing pedagogical practices aligned with individual development needs and up-to-date educational knowledge. The teacher collaborates with regional teams and families, provides consultation to improve general, enhanced, and special support practices, and participates in the professional development of the entire workplace. The successful candidate will coordinate multidisciplinary collaboration with the supervisory area and work with the regional multidisciplinary team and transition-related actors. The daycare currently employs four special education teachers. The position is governed by the Municipal Education Personnel Collective Agreement (OVTES); requirements include the legal qualification for early childhood education teaching, plus completion of professional studies in special education or a Master’s degree with a major in Special Education (early childhood).
