They will lead the theatre’s technical operations including stage lighting, sound, set and building facilities, coordinating with a team and reporting to the production director. The role focuses on delivering technically feasible productions, resource planning, budgeting, safety and risk management, and lifecycle management of equipment and spaces. The technical manager will coordinate with Lilla Teatern, Studio Pasila and Arena stage operations as part of the theatre’s overall activities, and participate in building maintenance and project initiatives. The position requires strategic leadership, ability to balance artistic goals with technical and financial constraints, and ongoing development of processes. Responsibilities also include guiding the production managers and producers in planning and execution, and contributing to board-level discussions. The ideal candidate will have substantial technical production experience, leadership experience, budgeting and procurement experience, and fluency in Finnish and English.

Responsibilities
- Lead stage, lighting, sound and facilities operations with fellow managers
- Ensure technical feasibility, staffing, resource and schedule budgeting for productions
- Maintain quality, safety, risk management and appropriate use of resources and drive safety practices improvements
- Own budget, procurement, investment planning and lifecycle management of equipment and spaces
- Coordinate technical operations of Lilla Teatern, Studio Pasila and Arena stages as part of the theatre
- Lead maintenance and development of facilities and spaces
- Act as a key partner to production managers and producers in planning and execution
- Participate in leadership team and support the production director in strategy execution
Requirements
- Relevant education for the role
- Experience in supervisory and leadership roles
- Experience with procurement, contracts and negotiations
- Proven track record leading demanding productions or technical entities
- Experience budgeting, procurement or investment planning
- Ability to use digital tools for management and development
- Finnish and English language skills
