Specialist Nurse

We are seeking a permanent nurse for the stabilisation care ward at Ohkola Hospital. Are you interested in meaningful and inspiring work in forensic psychiatry? The nurse’s work on the ward involves three-shift work with a variety of psychiatric and forensic psychiatric nursing tasks, with the central focus on long-term nursing relationships. We value strong psychiatric nursing competence and experience in caring for patients with psychosis. The job requires good teamwork and communication skills, good physical and mental health, an energetic attitude and proactive work approach. We also organise specialist training in forensic psychiatry in Ohkola, for example through monthly lectures. Ohkola Hospital operates six closed intensive and forensic psychiatry wards, a residence coaching ward and functional rehabilitation unit. We treat patients with psychosis and forensic psychiatry patients, conduct risk assessments of violence, and perform mental state examinations ordered by law. Some wards focus on acute symptoms and stabilisation, some on advanced rehabilitation. At the end of 2026 we will have new facilities designed for forensic psychiatry. The work starts on 26.10.2026 or by agreement. Candidates may be interviewed during the application period. The position includes a 6-month trial period. The individual salary starts at EUR 3218.18 and may include experience and other allowances.
