Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Specialist

We are seeking a fixed-term? no, permanent full-time position for an anesthesiologist specialized in anesthesiology and intensive care. The primary work location is the Hämeenlinna surgical and anesthesia unit at Ahvenist hospital. The role includes on-call duties. Our operation covers active surgical and anesthesia care, off-site anesthesia in external units, LEIKO unit, and the delivery department, including a variety of recovery room procedures around the clock. The hospital also runs an 11-bed intensive care and monitoring unit led by an anesthesiology physician. There are 14 specialist physician posts and five trainee physician posts in the unit. Hämeenlinna Hospital maintains two on-call duties: active on-call and on-call standby (<30 minutes). The operating unit and ICU are equipped with modern medical devices and information systems. On weekdays there are 15 operating rooms in our surgical and anesthesia units. We moved to a completely new hospital building in March 2026. The position requires the license and qualification of a specialist in anesthesiology and intensive care. Experience, suitability, additional training and scientific merits are valued. Good interpersonal skills, flexibility, and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and actively develop its operations are appreciated.
