Healthcare Assistant

We are recruiting for Keski-Suomen hyvinvointialue for the ventilator-assisted patient care unit in Jyväskylä as a temporary position starting immediately and ending 31 December 2026. The unit cares for patients with ventilator dependence who live at home and are supported by a 24/7 care team. As a member of the care team you will assist with the daily care of ventilator-dependent patients on the ventilator, in a three-shift schedule. The job offers independent, interesting and challenging work performed at the patient’s home. In addition to basic daily care, the role includes managing various assistive devices and assisting the patient with mobility and running errands outside the home. We will train the new employee according to an individual plan. We expect a flexible, proactive and energetic approach. It is advantageous to have access to a car, as the work is primarily in the patient’s home. Eligibility requires a practical nurse qualification or an equivalent vocational qualification in the field. We require registration in the central register of professionals (Sosiaalihuollon Julkisuosikko-rekisteri in social welfare and Terveydenhuollon Julkiterhikki in health care). The role requires up-to-date competence in medication administration according to the medication plan and to obtain it at the start of employment. We also require suitability under the Infectious Diseases Act §48 (rubella and measles). Vaccination against influenza and whooping cough is determined by the employer. Terms follow the Social and Health Care Employer Union collective agreement (SOTE). A probationary period applies. We may interview applicants during the application period.
