In this role you will teach general home economics to 7th grade and elective home economics to 8th–9th grade. The position also includes the responsibilities of a class tutor. We value pupil-centered and development-oriented working style and good cooperation and interaction skills. Tiirismaan School is located at Paavola campus in the heart of Lahti. The school is a single-entity school with about 860 students in grades 1–9 and about 100 staff members. In addition to Finnish-language instruction, the school provides extensive bilingual basic education (English–Finnish) for grades 1–9, an English-language track for grades 1–9, and weighted music education for grades 7–9. The upper secondary education of the Lahti Swedish School is also conducted at Tiirismaa. A teaching qualification in home economics is required; qualifications are defined by the Decree on qualifications for teaching personnel no. 986/98. The temporary position may be filled even if the applicant does not have the qualification. Please indicate your qualification in the application and attach copies of certificates.
