Public Health Veterinarian

We are seeking a Public Health Veterinarian to join Seinäjoen alueen ympäristöterveydenhuollon to support animal welfare and animal disease surveillance in the Seinäjoki area. The position is placed in Seinäjoki and involves primarily animal welfare and animal disease surveillance within the district, with minor duties under by-product regulations. Animal welfare investigations are performed in pairs. Collaboration with the five veterinarians in Southern Ostrobothnia is encouraged. The unit has a car for inspection tasks. The annual salary for the position is 6002.89 €/month. Requirements include a legally recognized veterinary degree in Finland and eligibility under the Animal Health Care Decree (1031/2009) §2. A driving license, excellent Finnish language skills (spoken and written), communication and teamwork abilities, and interest in development are required. Experience in animal welfare and disease surveillance, familiarity with sector-specific statutory law, and administrative competence are advantageous. Remote work is possible where duties permit. The position does not include practical training or on-call duties. The vacancy is to be filled starting 14 September 2026 or by agreement.
