Lead designer for mining and environmental construction projects. Ramboll seeks an experienced lead designer to strengthen our mining and environmental construction design discipline. This role suits someone who understands the day-to-day of demanding design projects, wants to apply their expertise to significant mining, waste-site and circular economy initiatives, and values working within a skilled expert network. Your new role and team: As Lead Designer you will be responsible for design packages for mining and environmental construction projects, ensuring solutions are technically sound, feasible and aligned with client objectives. You will work closely with project managers, specialists, clients and authorities. Our projects focus on mining sector, recycling centers and waste areas, combining circular economy, resource efficiency and environmental protection with practical feasibility. We value extensive experience across different design scenarios; the more you have seen, the more you can influence from day one. In this role you: - Lead design packages for mining and environmental construction projects. - Guide quality, coordination and feasibility of design solutions with project manager and expert team. - Bring your experience to bear on challenging design, permitting and implementation questions for our clients. - Contribute to bids and client work and strengthen Ramboll’s mining and environmental construction know-how. About you: We are seeking an experienced professional with deep understanding of mining/environmental construction projects and a desire to impact significant environmental and mining projects. Requirements: suitable university degree in construction, civil/environmental or geotechnical engineering; several years of experience in environmental, civil/infrastructure or mining design tasks; experience in management of design packages and coordinating design solutions; understanding of mining, waste-site, recycling or other challenging environmental construction sites; experience with common design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, NovaPoint or equivalents; fluency in Finnish and adequate English for an international expert organization.
