Come and join the cheerful Daycare Centre Tuuli as an early childhood education teacher in a shift-care group! Tuuli will begin operating as a 24-hour daycare centre in January in its brand-new premises in the heart of Pikku Huopalahti. Nearby are varied places to explore, including woods, playgrounds and libraries, and we have good transport connections to different parts of Helsinki. We are now looking for an early childhood education teacher for the shift-care pre-primary education group or an early childhood education group for children of different ages. The teacher’s work is mainly during the day but also includes agreed evening work. At the renewed Tuuli, you will get to build a round-the-clock operating culture for our daycare centre with us. We expect good interaction skills and a positive, sensitive approach to meeting children and their families. You will be supported by the other staff in the unit, your team, an experienced unit special education teacher, the daycare centre director and the assistant director. Experience working in early childhood education and pre-primary education is considered an advantage. As an early childhood education teacher, you are responsible for building the operating culture and learning environment of your group, planning, implementing, developing and assessing pedagogical activities, and supporting each child’s individual learning in accordance with Helsinki’s early childhood and pre-primary education curricula, the early childhood education unit’s operating plan and the child’s individual plan. We require eligibility under the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018), or, under the transitional provision in section 75, a Bachelor of Education qualifying as an early childhood education teacher, a suitable university of applied sciences degree or an earlier equivalent college-level qualification, for example a kindergarten teacher or social educator qualification. An eligibility recognition decision by the Finnish National Agency for Education based on foreign education also meets the qualification requirement. For work in a pre-primary education group, you must also be qualified to provide pre-primary education. We also require good spoken and written Finnish. The selected person must present a valid criminal record extract for working with children. Employees working with children under school age must undergo an assessment concerning pulmonary tuberculosis.
