About the role

Interest in developing a multidisciplinary approach to early childhood education. The role is part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating pedagogical activities in collaboration with other professionals. You will be responsible for educational cooperation with families, promoting inclusion and belonging, and guiding children, families and guardians. The job is located at the Ylästö nursery, a six-group day care center near Ylästö school, with close ties to local parks and nature areas. You will work in a 2–4-year-old group together with an early childhood teacher and a childminder, contributing to child welfare and well-being and to developing services and new practices. The unit emphasizes inclusive leadership and a collaborative, supportive work environment. We value flexible, positive, and engaged teamwork, listening to children with sensitivity, and allowing children to influence matters affecting them. The day care employs 17 early childhood professionals and a variable number of support staff. The unit is part of the Ylästö unit comprising three day cares, led by a co-leadership model with one director responsible for staff and another for pedagogy. We are seeking dedicated early childhood social workers who bring a positive, professional approach that highlights each child's strengths. We offer training opportunities, a peer support group for social workers, a safe and equal work environment, and a range of staff benefits including fitness, well-being and culture benefits, lunch benefit, and commuter benefit. We support staff well-being and health by enabling a physically active lifestyle (e.g., access to swimming halls, gyms and group exercise; discounted tickets to cultural events). If you are graduating soon, we welcome you to apply. Salary: 3113-3218 EUR per month, with experience-based pay on top of base salary (3–8%). Required certifications include a criminal background check and TB test for those working with under-school children. Working hours: full-time, 38 h 15 min/week; contract type: permanent. Application deadline: 16:00 on the closing date. Contact: Daycare director Suvi Pekkola, +358503124574, suvi.pekkola@vantaa.fi. Apply via the city’s recruitment system.
