Backend Engineer

Nebius is building a full-stack AI cloud platform and we are seeking experienced backend engineers to lead and contribute as part of the mk8s Core team. You will lead by example with a strong IC focus while also taking on managerial responsibilities. Responsibilities include leading 4–8 mid-to-senior engineers, coaching and giving feedback, maintaining the technical vision for your area, and collaborating with Product Management to shape product plans. You will work on core service control plane design, cluster autoscaling, and platform integrations, with a focus on Kubernetes-native infrastructure. You will have opportunities to influence multi-month technical projects and drive improvements such as scaling 20K GPU nodes within a single Kubernetes cluster, integrating autoscaling approaches like Karpenter, and delivering Kubernetes-native storage and Layer 7 load balancers. You will be expected to write and review code, participate in on-call rotations, and contribute to incident analysis. Requirements include 8+ years of professional software engineering or management experience, and strong expertise in Golang or a willingness to switch to Golang.
