Data Engineer

We are looking for a Junior Data Engineer to join our team in Belgium and grow into a trusted data consultant through hands-on project work, coaching, and learning. Your role in a nutshell As a Junior Data Engineer, you’ll start your consulting career by working alongside more experienced colleagues on customer projects. This is a hands-on entry role for someone with a technical background who is ready to learn how modern data solutions are built in real project environments. You’ll receive on-the-job training, coaching, and support from senior consultants while developing your skills in data engineering and customer work. Your colleagues will learn you the tips & tricks on how to develop customer relations, and will motivate you to support Solita with knowledge sharing, internal contributions Over time, you’ll grow towards independently contributing to data pipelines, integrations, transformations, and platform development, and making impact at customers and internally at Solita. What you’ll be doing Supporting the design and development of modern data solutions in customer projects Working with senior consultants to build and maintain data pipelines, transformations, and integrations Learning how to use cloud data platforms and engineering tools in practice Contributing to testing, validation, and continuous improvement of data solutions Turning business and user needs into practical technical work together with your team Participating in customer collaboration and developing your consultancy skills over time What you bring We’re looking for someone early in their career with a strong technical foundation and the motivation to grow into a consultant role. You might be a great fit if you have: A recent degree in IT, computer science or data/AI engineering A technical mindset and genuine interest in data engineering and cloud technologies Good communication skills and the willingness to work in a consulting environment and develop commercial skills Fluency in English and in either Dutch or French Any hands-on experience from studies, internships, thesis work, personal projects, or student jobs related to data and AI is a big plus We do not expect you to know everything already. What matters most is your learning ability, your problem-solving mindset, and your interest in building technical solutions that create value for customers.
