Practical nurse

Two temporary practical nurse positions are available at Omenamäen welfare center in Porvoo, for the period 7 Oct 2026 to 31 Dec 2026. Work involves assisting residents aged over 65 who move from their own homes to communal rental housing. Care is based on assessed need and residents’ health varies; there are about 80 residents. The unit operates with 23 practical nurses on rotating shifts and two nurses plus an activity organiser on day work, Monday–Friday. You will participate in everyday life of residents and help shape daily routines and celebrations. Our supportive team provides guidance during onboarding and when seeking advice. We use autonomous shift planning to support flexible work–life balance. Employment terms follow the SOTE collective agreement. Work time is 38.25 hours per week in three shifts. The job has a probationary period. The required qualifications are a practical nurse degree or a former basic nurse degree with registration under the Social Welfare and Health Care Professionals Act (817/2015); proficiency in Finnish (speaking and writing) is required; knowledge of both official languages is an advantage. The recruitment is under a temporary contract. The vaccine requirement under the Communicable Diseases Act and hygiene pass are required.
