Care Assistant

As a care assistant, you are an important part of residents’ everyday lives and wellbeing. We want to create a working environment where skills are shared, people learn from one another and everyone can use their strengths to achieve common goals. Your work includes assisting residents with daily activities such as washing, dressing and eating; supporting their functional ability and enabling an active everyday life, for example by guiding different activities; helping with food service, including preparing meals for serving and keeping dining areas pleasant and clean; and ensuring high-quality, up-to-date documentation. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary community alongside nurses, practical nurses, physiotherapists, an occupational therapist, social counsellors, activity coordinators and supervisors. We believe residents have the best everyday life when we combine our skills and work towards shared goals. The work is in three shifts, including morning, evening and night shifts. We are looking for someone who meets residents warmly and wants to cooperate with residents, their loved ones, colleagues and other professional groups. Experience in services for older people is an advantage, but we value even more a genuine desire and motivation to learn and develop your skills. The successful candidate must have a hygiene passport before employment begins. We expect good cooperation and interaction skills, a desire to meet people warmly and respectfully, genuine interest in working with older people, a solution-focused approach, and commitment to promoting residents’ safety and wellbeing. Myyrmäki Senior Centre is a modern home for people over 65, completed in 2019, with 199 places. The building has six residential units and offers both round-the-clock care and communal housing. Our goal is to support residents’ active everyday lives and preserve their functional ability for as long as possible. Older people can live life on their own terms in their own homes. Qualification requirement: care assistant training. Number of positions: one. Working time: period-based working time. Required permits and checks: the selected person must provide the criminal record extract required under section 28 of the Act on the Supervision of Social Welfare and Health Care (741/2023) for work with older and disabled people. The role requires vaccination protection under section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a tuberculosis assessment under section 55. The selected candidate’s credit information will be checked. Position-specific salary: €2,381.02 per month, plus a possible supplement based on previous work experience.
