Chief Physician

We are seeking a Chief Physician for the permanent position at the Developmental Disabilities Medicine Clinic in Kouvola. The Developmental Disabilities Medicine Clinic provides specialized services under the Developmental Disabilities Act. Our operation is based on evaluating the overall situation and service needs of the client together with the client, their family and support network. Based on the assessment, we plan individualized services that meet the client’s needs. The clinic operates at Kouvola Veturin facilities at Tervasharjunkatu 1, 45720 Kouvola. As Chief Physician you will be responsible for the clinic’s operations together with the chief physician and nursing management. The role includes developing operations, planning care and rehabilitation, and engaging in multidisciplinary expert work. Work is done in close collaboration with social welfare actors and the clients’ support networks. Your work combines outpatient clinic duties, consultative expert work, and planning of multidisciplinary rehabilitation. The role offers the opportunity to influence clients’ daily lives and functional capacity long term and to develop your own expertise in developmental disabilities medicine. Qualifications: You are eligible if you hold the/licentiate of medicine and the license to practice as a physician in Finland. Desirable: Specialist physician qualification; experience in developmental disabilities medicine; experience in psychiatry; administrative training or experience in supervisory/leadership positions; ability to plan multidisciplinary rehabilitation and knowledge of special legislation.
