Procurement Engineer

We are seeking a procurement engineer to strengthen our project procurement team. The role involves practical procurement execution and ensuring procurement packages progress with quality, cost-efficiency and in line with the project agreements. You will work as part of a project team in close cooperation with the procurement manager, technical leads, suppliers and other project stakeholders. Responsibilities include: issuing procurement packages from requests for proposals to supplier negotiations and selections; maintaining the procurement plan and tracking progress; contracting and supplier follow-up, delivery coordination; reviewing invoices and coordinating invoicing; participating in contract changes and handling complaints; coordinating procurement-related collaboration and communications with suppliers and other stakeholders; defining project-specific procurement and reporting practices and documents. You will work across Finland with 28 locations, with your own site located in Kuopio, Helsinki, Oulu or Tampere depending on your location. To succeed you should be pragmatic, thorough and collaborative; you should be able to work independently, push tasks forward systematically, and communicate fluently with diverse stakeholders. We expect several years of experience in project procurement in industrial environments, knowledge of key industry contracting practice and project management, and the ability to identify and manage procurement risks. Good communication and negotiation skills, ability to work as part of a project team, and a suitable higher education degree in technical or commercial fields are desired.
