Food Safety Officer

A client of ours working for a local authority is looking to hire an Interim Environmental Health Officer, specializing in food safety, for the next 9 months due to a number of outstanding service requests, and a gap in their team due to a long standing permanent vacancy. The role is full-time, 37 hours per week, but part-time can also be considered for the right candidate. Hybrid working is standard within this local authority, so it is expected that the candidate placed will be on site between 2-3 days each week depending on the workload. Duties will include but not be limited to: Food hygiene inspections across all risk categories Food complaint investigations and follow-up actions Providing advice and guidance to food operators and local businesses Preparing inspection reports and enforcement documentation Supporting the wider Environmental Health department where required Interviews are to be held within the next week and ideally the client will agree a start date within the next 2 weeks.
