Personal Assistant

Role overview: We are seeking a personal assistant for my sister in Sysmä. The employer is her guardian and the representative contact. The assistant will serve as a second carer during weekends (Saturday and Sunday, 4 hours per day from 09:00 to 13:00) and cover shift hours during weekdays for the main caregiver (7 hours per day, 09:00–16:00). Total hours vary monthly (approximately 60–80 hours/month) depending on the need for the primary caregiver’s substitution. The person supported uses supportive stockings and moves independently with a walker. The tasks include helping with daily activities and routines so she can live at home in a single-family house. The person is largely independent, but needs reminders for daily tasks and events; short-term memory is limited. Tasks also include foot care, applying stockings, medication and meal management, occasional cooking, cleaning, dishwashing, outdoor activity, and other household duties. If needed, other duties agreed separately may be added. In substitution tasks, light laundry, minor garden chores, and shopping trips to Sysmä Church are included. The person lives about 10 km from Sysmä Church. Support occurs at home and is organized under an employer model. Qualities sought include reliability, calmness, good social interaction, and initiative. A personal car is essential. Prior work experience is welcome but not required. Training on the job is provided by the current caregiver on site. This is part-time work at the client’s home in Sysmä. Employment type is permanent or fixed-term with an initial probation. Start date: 01.10.2026 or by agreement. Working language: Finnish.
