Project Scheduler - atNorth - Varde, Denmark
Job Description
atNorth is a leading Nordic data center company providing cost-effective, scalable high-density colocation and built-to-suit services to industry-leading organizations across Iceland, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark. With sustainability at our core, our data centers run on renewable energy and are designed according to circular economy principles. Through innovative design, power efficiency, and intelligent operations, we deliver reliable, secure, and high-performance infrastructure. Headquartered in Reykjavik, Iceland, atNorth operates eight data centers across the Nordics, with additional sites under development in Finland, Denmark, and Sweden. We combine world-class technology with a people-first culture built on collaboration, ownership, and trust, empowering our teams to grow, take responsibility, and make a real impact. By joining our international team, you will help shape the future of sustainable digital infrastructure. Project Scheduler at atNorth Are you a master of project controls who thrives on turning complex infrastructure dependencies into highly predictable, synchronized execution plans? As a Project Scheduler at atNorth, you will ensure accurate planning, coordination, and tracking of all activities across the entire data center construction lifecycle. You will act as the critical link connecting our engineering, procurement, and construction teams, ensuring that every milestone from initial design to final commissioning stays firmly on track. This is a high-impact position within our PMO structure where your analytical insights, critical path analyses, and proactive risk-mapping will directly drive predictable, on-time project delivery across our rapidly expanding Nordic footprint. Key responsibilities: Develop, baseline, and maintain fully integrated master schedules for our data center projects, meticulously covering design, permitting, civil works, MEP installation, commissioning, and final handover. Ensure procurement timelines for long-lead items (LLI) and owner-furnished, contractor-installed (OFCI) equipment are seamlessly integrated into the active construction schedules. Monitor schedule performance using Earned Value Management (EVM) and progress metrics. Identify deviations, track float, and proactively flag critical path risks and delay mitigation opportunities to Project Managers and senior stakeholders. Rigorously review and challenge external contractor schedules for logic, realism, and contractual compliance, highlighting gaps or inconsistencies before they impact the site. Support weekly and monthly programme reviews by preparing updated schedules, dashboards, look-aheads, and scenario/what-if analyses. Partner with Cost Management to align schedule tracking with cash flow forecasting. Refine planning standards, templates, and scheduling methodologies in coordination with the PMO to increase delivery efficiency portfolio-wide. Your profile: A technical degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field 5+ years of dedicated project controls, scheduling, or planning experience, with a distinct preference for professionals coming out of the data center sector or complex, mission-critical infrastructure environments. Advanced, hands-on proficiency in industry-standard planning tools, specifically Primavera P6 and MS Project. Deep understanding of data center design and construction workflows, scheduling logic, interdependencies, and Earned Value Management methodology. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge external contractors and translate complex timeline risks into clear, actionable advice for internal project teams. Holding a PMP or Prince2 certification is considered a strong advantage. Fluency in written and spoken English is required; proficiency in any local Nordic language is a plus.
