Child Care Worker

We are looking for a reliable person to assist with a family’s daily life. We are a five-member family located within 20 km of the center of Oulu, seeking a pleasant, trustworthy, and child-centered individual for regular help with everyday tasks. Our family includes three children: an 8-year-old in second grade, a 6-year-old in kindergarten, and almost 3-year-old baby. The two younger children attend daycare/kindergarten during daytime. The mother works in Oulu and occasionally does on-call shifts. The father works full-time mostly from home. What kind of help are we seeking? We would appreciate help typically one to two afternoons/evenings per week, for example from around 15:30/16:00 to 19:00/20:00. The days do not have to be the same every week; we can be flexible based on your preferences and our needs. We can also adjust the hours. Primarily we are looking for trustworthy extra hands for ordinary family life: tasks include picking up children from daycare/kindergarten, tidying the home, light cooking, being with the children, and possibly driving them to activities. Daycare and activity drops are easiest by car, so a driving license is mandatory. You would not be left alone responsible for all the children for the whole afternoon. Usually one of the parents is at home nearby, but we hope you can be with the children independently at times when we are at work, on a walk, or taking a child to an activity. Our eldest child manages quite independently and does not necessarily need a caregiver. They may need help with activities occasionally. The preschooler enjoys company for play, games, or baking. The almost 3-year-old enjoys joining in on almost any activity. We hope to find someone with whom the cooperation could continue long-term and who becomes a familiar and safe adult for the children.
