Oulu University Hospital is seeking four (4) fixed-term training positions for physicians specializing in pediatrics. The positions are filled for the duration the applicant requires for training in the specialty of pediatrics at a university hospital to meet the qualification requirements for a specialist physician. The University of Oulu is responsible for the training. The job description of the specializing physician includes on-call duties. In patient work, a specialist physician provides support, and each trainee has a tutor colleague. Eligibility requirement is the legalization or permit to act in the duties of a physician as stipulated in the Act on Health Care Professionals 559/94. Original degree and work certificates will be verified for those invited to an interview. The job applicant must be registered in the register maintained by the Licensing and Supervision Authority (Terhikki and/or Suosikki). The selected person must present an extract from the criminal record in accordance with Section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act (Act on the Verification of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children 504/2002). Before accepting the position, the selected person must provide the required medical certificate regarding their health status (Act on Municipal and Wellbeing Services Area Officials, Section 7). We apply a probationary period of maximum 6 months for official relationships. The probationary period may be at most half of the duration of the service relationship in fixed-term service relationships lasting less than 12 months. Regarding staff vaccination protection, we follow the vaccination protection required by the Occupational Health and Communicable Diseases Act.
