Communications specialist role description: to highlight the organization’s work, advocate for marginalized groups, and market activities to new audiences. The position entails collaborating with the management and networks, and guiding other staff in communications. Responsibilities include civic education center communications and course marketing and other customer acquisition, website updates with a technical partner, media and social media communications, brand strengthening, communicating organizational results and societal messaging, tracking and reporting communications outcomes, issuing guidelines and strengthening internal communications, capturing customer stories and involving clients in communications, and network work. Requirements include 3–5 years of experience in communications/marketing, proficiency with various marketing platforms (e.g., Meta Ads, Google Ads), a strategic mindset with hands-on approach, and the ability to engage diverse target groups. Desirable qualifications include crisis and change communications expertise, experience in non-profit or civil society sectors, and a suitable higher education degree.
