Hei, you innovative social work professional who likes working with children and youth, with a development-oriented and respectful and appreciative approach. We are seeking a child protection worker for Pehtoori Riihi, in a demanding rehabilitation unit. The position is located in Järvenpää at Uudenmaantie 1. In the same building there is another child protection unit. Pehtoori Riihi provides long-term foster care for Keusote clients. The unit's clients (ages 7–17) come from the entire Keusote region. The child protection worker acts as a primary supervisor for the unit's children and their families, sharing responsibility with a colleague for guiding the client's process, care and family work. The task includes guiding and organizing the child's rehabilitative situation in collaboration with the child, family, networks and the unit's multidisciplinary team. The worker is also responsible for daily care and upbringing of all children placed in the unit during their shifts, network collaboration, documentation and housekeeping tasks. You will be supported by a supervisor and the rest of the team. The team consists of the unit supervisor, seven AMK-level child protection workers, a nurse, two practical nurses (night shift), and collaborators from another unit, including a psychologist, a janitorial staff and a kitchen supervisor. The unit operates three-shift contracts with rotating night supervision; on average 2–4 on-calls in a three-week roster. This enhances safety and enables high-quality work also in unexpected situations. Our goal with adequate staffing is to respond to the behavioral challenges of the placed children and prevent repeated moves between placement units. Sufficient resourcing enables close collaboration with the child's care authorities and families without compromising the quality of care for other children present. The role is supported by regular team meetings, supervision and development days.
