About the role

We are looking for a village coordinator for the students' Business Village in Lahti! Business Village Primary School is a learning environment where sixth graders simulate various professions and society's functions on a small scale. In Business Village Secondary School, ninth graders lead real companies as teams on an experiential game arena. Approximately 10,200 children and young people visit the Häme Business Village annually with their teachers. Versatile job description with children and youth The village coordinator's position is full-time and fixed-term. The position is a substitute for study leave. Work includes: - Taking care of the schedules and practical arrangements of Business Village days, especially in surprising or exceptional situations - Guiding children and youth - Supporting and guiding mentors - Tasks related to the daily life of the Business Village, such as making orders and updating materials - Customer service in matters related to the Business Village The village coordinator's position is not a supervisory role, but it may include substituting for one's own supervisor in supervisory duties. The person we are looking for: - You have education suitable for the position or previous experience from similar work. - You have an active approach to work and enjoy versatile work. - You master the Finnish language both orally and in writing. - Presenting comes naturally to you. Essential in the position: - Courage to make independent decisions in challenging situations - Understanding and prioritizing broad wholes - Good communication skills: expressing complex things simply, whether the recipient is a child or an adult - Systematic work approach - Interest in achieving a good result and accuracy in details Working at NYT At Nuorten NYT, you are part of a national group that is inspired by their work daily. We work together encouraging others and also have fun. According to a personnel survey conducted in 2025, the willingness to recommend among 'nyttiläiset', i.e., eNPS, is exceptionally high, 72. Strengths from the survey were especially supervisory work, collegial support, community spirit, and the experience of equality. Employment relationship The employment relationship is fixed-term at 100% working hours. The position is a substitute for study leave. The position starts on August 17, 2026, and ends on June 11, 2027/June 18, 2027. The start date can be agreed upon separately if necessary. Working hours are mainly 8:00–16:00 (flexible working hours are available). The work is mainly on-site in Mukkula, Lahti (Mukkulankatu 19, 15210 Lahti). The village coordinator is part of the Häme regional team. A salary according to the agreement is paid for the work, and we offer employment benefits according to NYT's practices. The village coordinator's salary is between €2,350–€2,700 (the salary range for the requirement class is €2,235.60–€3,129.83). Apply to be our village coordinator by August 2, 2026.
