Ylitornion kunta is seeking a Project Coordinator for the Explore Sustainable Nature - Pathways for Tourism project (ESN). The ESN project develops sustainable nature tourism and trail infrastructure in the Ylitornio and Tervola area. The project supports regional business renewal, service innovations and multi-use of nature, and brings together entrepreneurs and actors in the area. It builds on prior development work in the region and links to the Vaara Trails project. The project received funding approval in August 2026 from Lapin liitto. Ylitornio is a municipality of about 3,700 inhabitants in Western Lapland near the Swedish border. Tervola is about 2,800 inhabitants along the Kemijoki river. Ylitornio and Tervola are neighboring municipalities about an hour apart. The Project Coordinator is a key person, coordinating project implementation according to work packages, maintaining active collaboration with municipalities, companies and stakeholders, organizing workshops, networks and study trips, gathering and analyzing information on trails, services and user needs, drafting development plans and investment guides, handling communications, reporting and liaising with the vitality coordinator, monitoring the project budget and indicators. We expect from the Project Coordinator a suitable university degree, good communication and organizational skills, ability to work independently with planning and goal orientation, a category B driving license and willingness to travel within the project area (Ylitornio–Tervola). Experience or studies in business development, nature use planning and map software (e.g., QGIS). Proficiency in written Finnish. Submit a free-form application including your CV.
