Etelä-Savon hyvinvointialue Eloisa hires a physician for its palliative center on a permanent civil service contract starting 1 Oct 2026 or by agreement. The palliative center provides high-level (B-level) palliative care to residents of the region. The work is at Eloisa's palliative center, with locations in Savonlinna and Mikkeli. The center supports palliative care across the region through ward work, outpatient clinics and consultation activities. You will be able to apply your expertise in a varied way and further develop it as part of a knowledgeable and valued multi-disciplinary team. The job does not include on-call duties, but you may participate if you wish. Work arrangements can be negotiated according to your life situation, and part-time or hybrid work is also possible. Your workstation can be in either Mikkeli or Savonlinna. The employer is education-friendly and enables participation in external training. Our remuneration is at the top of the local scale: Licensed physician, under 3 years since licensure – 8047.09 €/mo; Licensed physician, over 3 years – 8571.23 €/mo; Specialist, under 10 years of specialist training – 9776.58 €/mo; Specialist, over 10 years – 10188.22 €/mo. Local role-based allowances are paid according to professional qualification and job description. Qualifications require the ability to practise as a general practitioner independently as a licensed professional (Health Professionals Act 559/94 4 §). Experience in palliative work is valued. There is also the possibility to undertake a palliative speciality training period if desired. The role requires vaccination protection under the Infectious Diseases Act 48 § and a health status declaration regarding tuberculosis of the respiratory system under §55. Before appointment, the selected candidate must present a health status declaration. Proficiency in spoken and written Finnish is required for the role. A six-month probation period applies.
