About the role

We are seeking an Early Childhood Education Teacher for Havukallion Daycare Center on a permanent basis starting 1 September 2026. Havukallion Daycare is located in a nature-forward, forested residential area with good transport connections. Nature is a core part of our learning environment, and we make use of the local surroundings in our activities. The area is culturally diverse, enriching our daily work with different perspectives and experiences. Our daycare has five groups of children and recently renovated facilities, enabling you to work in updated group spaces and collaborate with other staff to create functional and inspiring learning environments. We emphasize meeting each child as an individual, recognizing strengths, encouraging, and praising. Play is a central element, as is child participation, interests, and wonder. Our pedagogy focuses on supporting emotional and social skills and language development. We want every child to have the opportunity to learn, try, and succeed in a safe atmosphere. Our pedagogy is supported by a broad early childhood education special needs teacher and a development-focused teacher. We also use the ProVaka model (Positive group-based learning in early childhood). You will work in a capable team and receive support from colleagues. The unit also serves as a practicum site for student teachers, so you may mentor and share professional know-how with future professionals. What we expect from you: a sensitive and warm approach to children, good cooperation and teamwork skills, flexibility, development-mindedness, and a desire to build high-quality pedagogy with the team. Strong Finnish language skills (spoken and written) are required. If you are cooperative, open, and excited about developing early childhood education with a skilled team, you might be our new colleague. We will start interviews during the application period; the role may be filled as soon as a suitable candidate is found, so please submit your application promptly. Why choose Vantaa? Vantaa is a bold and relaxed employer offering an open work climate and room to experiment with new methods. You will have a broad, multidisciplinary support network. Read more about the experiences of Vantaa’s early childhood professionals. What you get in Vantaa: first-year peer mentoring support, numerous opportunities for training and professional development, a safe and equal working environment, opportunities to influence through the management team, and diverse employee benefits such as sports, wellbeing, and cultural allowances, lunch benefit, and public transport subsidy. The city supports employee wellbeing by facilitating sports facilities and affordable services at massage providers, and discounted tickets to cultural events. Moving allowances of 1500 EUR are paid to employees relocating to Vantaa from outside the area, after a six-month trial period. This applies to permanent positions for early childhood education teachers, special education teachers, and daycare directors. Submit your application today via our recruitment system. The closing date is 16:00 on 28 August 2026. For direct applications, visit the job listing.
