Early Childhood Group Assistant

Kiteen city’s early childhood education is seeking a fixed-term, part-time Varhaiskasvatuksen ryhmäavustaja for 01.10.2026–30.9.2027. The role involves assisting with the care and supervision of children, guiding and supporting a child to promote independence, learning, and social- and interaction-skills, usually supporting one child but can assist the whole group as needed. You will work as part of a team with responsible staff and multi-disciplinary professionals, focusing on the child’s welfare, safety, learning, and smooth daily routines. We expect the ability for independent work, sensitivity and presence, flexibility and creativity, adaptability to rapid changes, knowledge or experience with special needs of children, the courage to take on challenges, and strong communication and teamwork skills. Salary is determined according to KVTES, and the position is 30 hours per week with start at Kesälahden Päiväkoti, Pikku-Kiisket-group. Suitable education and experience with children requiring support are seen as a plus; good Finnish language skills are required.
