The City of Mikkeli is seeking a fixed-term substitute Service Manager for early childhood education for the period 28.8. – 31.10.2026. The position is located within the early childhood education management and office services. The Service Manager will act as the acting Director of Early Childhood Education. The duties focus on personnel planning and the development of early childhood education. Responsibilities include processing vacancy permit applications in Kuntarekry, interviewing applicants for the early childhood education substitute register, participating in occupational health consultations for staff, collaborating with educational institutions, and preparing and participating in recruitment events. The Service Manager holds several super-user roles for various applications. Additionally, the Service Manager administers early childhood education and pre-primary education projects and participates in the development of the service voucher system and service network. Eligibility requirements for the position are a suitable university degree or a previous institute-level degree, as well as strong expertise in the field of early childhood education. Working hours are office hours, 36.25 hours/week. Salary and terms of employment are according to KVTES. The monthly salary is 4,020.24 euros; in addition, a work experience supplement of 3% – 8% of the position-specific salary may be paid based on previous work experience.
