Welcome to our team at the Southwestern Lapland Family Center! We are seeking a Lead Social Worker for the Child and Family Social Work and Guidance services starting 1 Oct 2026 or by agreement. The site is negotiable within the Southwestern service area. The Family Center unit comprises home-based child & family services, family social work, basic mental health services; parenting and child health clinic, student welfare services and maternity and child health services and school health services. The unit carries out planned family support assessments under social welfare act and in cooperation with networks. It also handles initial assessments of social welfare act and necessary social protection law assessments. The Lead Social Worker leads and develops the unit’s operations under the unit director, and is responsible for services within their area, collaboration between units, operational tasks, finances, personnel and development, and coordination with other service production. The team includes social workers and family counselors. We expect from you: a motivating and committed approach to work; the ability to lead responsibly, to manage finances and personnel; good communication and interaction skills and IT skills; sufficient experience in social work with children, youth and families; good knowledge of the service system and leadership capability; willingness to travel within the service area; a driving license is required; the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and independent working style and initiative. Qualification requires the right to practice as a licensed social worker.
