About the Role The Technical Sales Specialist will be responsible for developing Andor's Physical Science business in Korea through technical sales, application support, business development, and customer engagement. The role focuses on identifying and developing new customers and opportunities, understanding complex scientific applications, and translating customer requirements into appropriate Andor solutions — supporting customers throughout the technical evaluation and purchasing process, from initial application discussion through demonstration, troubleshooting, and commercial opportunity development. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role requiring strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and the ability to work independently across Sales, Applications, Service, Product Management, Marketing, and global Andor teams. Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and develop new customers and business opportunities across the Korean Physical Science market; develop and execute territory and account plans to expand Andor's customer base and market presence.
- Build relationships with PIs, researchers, engineers, laboratory managers, and other technical decision-makers, and develop existing accounts by identifying additional applications, projects, and opportunities for portfolio expansion.
- Manage opportunities from initial customer engagement through technical evaluation, quotation, and order; support sales forecasting, pipeline management, CRM activities, and achievement of agreed business objectives.
- Understand customer research objectives, experimental requirements, and technical challenges, and translate them into appropriate Andor products, configurations, and technical solutions.
- Provide technical and application support across scientific imaging, spectroscopy, microscopy, cameras, detectors, and related technologies; conduct product demonstrations, technical evaluations, proof-of-concept activities, workshops, seminars, and presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Materials Science, Photonics, Optical Science, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of relevant professional experience in scientific instrumentation, technical sales, application support, or service
- Proven experience working with academic, government research, national laboratory, and/or industrial R&D customers
- Strong understanding of scientific research environments and laboratory workflows
- Track record of developing new customers and creating business opportunities
- Strong technical troubleshooting and customer support capability
- Strong customer-facing, presentation, and consultative selling skills
- Fluent Korean and professional English communication skills
- Ability to travel within Korea and internationally as required
