Lieksa City’s City Environment Service Area is seeking a Forester to start on 1 October 2026 or by agreement. The Forester’s core duties include planning and implementing silvicultural work, timber trading and supervision of timber trade, tasks related to maintenance planning and maintenance with the maintenance work manager for urban forests, handling hunting leases and forest road maintenance, and other tasks related to the expertise. Lieksa uses the ForestKIT forest information system. Eligibility requires a suitable forestry higher education degree and experience in similar tasks, and at least a B-class driver’s license is mandatory. Original degree and work certificates must be presented at potential interviews. The position includes a six-month trial period. The successful candidate must present a medical certificate of health before taking up the post. Successful performance requires knowledge of forestry, practical field supervision experience, cooperation, communication and negotiation skills, an autonomous and responsible work attitude, a drive to develop, and good oral and written presentation skills. Previous experience in forestry tasks, project management skills and knowledge of public procurement are considered advantageous. The salary at the start of employment is 4116.65 €/month, plus possible professional allowance and a personal supplement based on job performance.
