Open recruitment for an experienced ecological surveyor for a fixed-term position during the field season of 2027, with possible start in late 2026. The candidate will conduct ecological surveys independently from planning fieldwork to reporting, and will work on vegetation/habitat surveys or ornithological surveys, with other fauna surveys as a bonus. Tasks include planning and executing fieldwork, processing observations, producing GIS data, and reporting. Depending on competence, involvement in environmental impact assessments (YVA), drafting expert statements, preparing bids, and developing expert work in sustainability consultancy may be included. A suitable university degree (e.g., biology, ecology or environmental science) is preferred, with experience in independent ecological surveys and strong reporting skills. Proficiency in GIS (e.g., QGIS) and an independent work approach are required. A-B driving license and good physical condition are desired. Location: Central/Northern Finland is advantageous due to fieldwork locations; owning field equipment is a plus. We offer a collaborative team, flexible work arrangements including remote work for duties outside fieldwork, and opportunities to learn from experienced experts. Perks include comprehensive occupational health care, lunch benefit, recreational/culture benefit, phone benefit, and flexible working hours. The position is temporary for the field season 2027, with possible start in late 2026. Work locations: remote work, fieldwork across Finland; office work in Helsinki at Ecobio’s Kampissa if needed.
