The Karvia municipality is advertising a temporary substitute position for an Early Years Teacher in Karvia Kindergarten Kissankimallus for the maternity leave coverage for the period from 1 November 2026 to 31 July 2028. Kissankimallus Kindergarten operates four groups of children. Initially the substitute teacher will be placed in the younger group. We have recently refreshed our pedagogical approach to emphasize children, play and genuine presence, and our working atmosphere is characterized by a positive and energetic vibe. In the work community we value a positive attitude, good interaction and interpersonal skills, and a professional approach. Experience from kindergarten work and a proactive attitude to developing activities are appreciated. The position requires the ability to work in different operating and learning environments and, if needed, in a rotating shift group. As an Early Years Teacher we expect you to have: pedagogical competence, familiarity with play-based and small-group pedagogy, sensitive interaction with children, genuine presence, leadership skills, good communication skills, courage to develop and take on challenges. Qualifications are determined according to the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018) sections 26 and 75 transitional provisions. Salary is according to OVTES. The position will be filled with a 6-month trial period. Before taking the position, the employee must present an acceptable medical certificate of health, and a police background check for people working with children (504/2002).
