MDFT Therapist

MDFT-terapeutti / menetelmävastaava is a permanent full-time position within the Family and Child Welfare services unit, focused on MDFT (Multidimensional Family Therapy) for youth aged 13–17 and their families in open and foster care. The role involves independently managing client processes with professional support from the MDFT team, providing weekly method guidance to MDFT therapists, ensuring adherence to the MDFT framework, and supporting therapists in MDFT practice. The team consists of two method supervisors and three MDFT therapists, with additional staff supporting post-institutional care. The work is field-based and in the team’s service area (Vantaa and Kerava) with typical hours 08:00–18:00 and some weekend work. Training is provided through the European SJI Institute with remote sessions, with English-language client work and Finnish-speaking practice. The unit is part of the Welfare Region’s Family Services and includes related services and centers. The position starts in September or by agreement; compensation includes base pay and potential experience-based supplements.
