We are seeking a Sámi-language childcare worker for a fixed-term position in the Sámi-language early childhood education at the Karigasniemi day care of the Utsjoki municipality. The placement is in Karigasniemi day care. The aim of Utsjoki municipality’s early childhood education is to create a safe and activating learning environment for the child, where the child’s thoughts are respected and listened to. When planning activities, the annual cycle, local livelihoods and location are considered. Sámi language and culture play a strong role in all daily situations. The values guiding the work are respect for others, good manners, equality, nature and tolerance. Eligibility: Finnish Early Childhood Education Act 540/2018. Salary according to KVTES. Utsjoki municipality pays a language allowance for Sámi language skills: 125 €/month for spoken skills and 150 €/month for written and spoken skills. A four-month probation applies. Before starting the position, the selected candidate must provide an approved health statement and a police background certificate as required by law (504/2002).
