Child care worker

We are seeking a Sami-language-speaking childcare worker for the Utsjoki municipality’s early childhood education. The temporary position runs from 1 October 2026 to 31 July 2027. Placement is at Karigasniemi Daycare. The Utsjoki municipality’s early childhood education aims to create a safe and activating learning environment for children, where their thoughts are respected and listened to. In planning activities, seasonal cycles, local livelihoods and the location are taken into account. Sami language and culture play a strong role in day-to-day work. Our guiding values are respect for others, good manners, equality, nature and tolerance. Qualification requirement: Varhaiskasvatuslaki 540/2018. Salary according to KVTES. The municipality pays a language allowance for Sami language proficiency: 125 €/month for spoken proficiency and 150 €/month for written and spoken proficiency. The position includes a four-month probationary period. Before taking the position, the chosen candidate must provide an acceptable health statement and a criminal record extract as per law 504/2002.
