Psychologist role in Espoo with multilingual requirements and training opportunities.
The psychologist’s work focuses on guiding and supporting families with young children and the child’s development within their immediate environment, including assessment of the child’s overall development. The psychologist models concrete supports for families’ everyday life and works both independently and in collaboration with speech and occupational therapists. Clients are met mainly in a clinic setting, with possible remote contacts. Usually, related visits include guidance and observation in the child’s everyday environment. There is also an opportunity to lead groups. All rehabilitation and guidance materials used are readily accessible. In a large organization, patient pathways and service criteria are designed to be clear to ensure smooth work. We value a broad multiprofessional approach and collaboration with various stakeholders. The work community is supportive and no one is left alone; induction includes regular mentor meetings with a colleague for the first six months, and several psychologists work at the same site so professional questions can be discussed with colleagues. Supervisors are approachable and you won’t have to solve challenging situations alone. We also offer group-based supervision to support and develop your professional skills. Working hours: 37h 45min / week. The position is fixed-term. Required education: Master of Psychology. Applicants in the final stages of their studies will be considered. The post is filled as soon as a suitable person is found. The candidate must have an enthusiastic and energetic approach, good interpersonal and collaboration skills, and the ability to operate in broad networks of clients and partners. Excellent written and spoken Finnish and Swedish are required. Other language skills are an asset. A criminal records extract is required. Vaccination protection against influenza and a health examination for tuberculosis are required. Random drug testing may be requested.
